A Gotham Wind Blew that Night…

January 9, 2015

It’s a video teaser for a soon to begin Cat-Tale…

“A Gotham wind blew that night, picking up a chalky-metal smell off the river that left a taste in your mouth like blood and toothpaste…”

Consider yourselves teased.

Fools and Drama Queens, As Wrong About Gotham as They Are About Selina…

September 29, 2014

Those not expecting to buy a bridge in Gotham tonight are invited to peruse a Catwoman origin worthy of the character and meet a Selina Kyle with the class and background to make her Batman and Bruce Wayne’s equal.

“Characters come alive, and when you’ve read them, you’ll never read Batman the same way again… and you’ll understand that the comics (and movies) truly do have Catwoman all wrong.”

“Short few paragraphs brilliatly illustrate why this Catwoman is the real one and the rest are cheap imitations. She’s brilliant, ferocious, is not afraid of anyone, but is sharp enough to accurately assess everyone, including Batman, and handle them accordingly.”

“I’ve rarely come across an author that is capable of consistently delivering such pathos and insight into characters and through the lens of the minds eye, insight into ourselves.”

Yes, Cat-Tales fans, I was going to save this announcement but Cattitude will be the next audio book read by Caroline Sharp and when you hear this sample, you will see (hear) why I couldn’t wait to share.

Batman and Catwoman: Chemistry

July 13, 2013
batman and catwoman, hot rooftop kiss, cattales

To some he was a fable, to some a nightmare, to some a detective, a freak, a hero, or a demon. But to Catwoman, he had always been, well… hers.* ~Cat-Tales: Fool

It’s been noted before that for the Definitive Batman and Catwoman series, Cat-Tales is hard for readers to recommend to hardcore shippers since a lot of the best Bruce/Selina moments are nestled in stories that are about other things. So I’m going to try a few things to make it easier than pointing to the 5+ book collection. This video is the first of what I hope will be little bite-size slices of the Cat-Tales life, recalling the first encounter from Catitude as recounted in Electron 29

Please suggest some other ways to bring the tales to the attention to those people who love Batman, love Catwoman, love Bruce and Selina as a couple, but aren’t getting what they want from the comics, games and movies.

The Gotham Rogues: Watch the Tigers Fight

April 9, 2012

batman-bane-the-gotham-roguesIt’s the video trailer for the next installment of  Cat-Tales: The Gotham Rogues – Against Belief

Gotham has been torn by war before between The Gotham Rogues and the Gotham Mobs, in The Dark Knight, in The Long Halloween, but the war between Batman’s theme villains and organized crime has never played out quite like it’s happening in Cat-Tales.

Dance of Illusions: Remembering My Dance with Dracula

September 15, 2011

batman-and-dracula-capes-and-bats-cover“The eyes, windows of the soul, are where the vampire make
his bid to take the mind, and control the mind.”

Just the phrase to keep in mind when Count Dracula Himself cuts in on your dance partner in the middle of the party whose sole purpose was for you to offer
yourself up as vamp bait.

“Eye contact is his window to steal his victim’s will.”

Good advice to be sure. But my brain conjuring Van Helsing’s voice out of the written words of his diary—Dutch accent and all—added an unnecessary
veneer of melodrama to the proceedings in this kitty’s opinion. With the band segueing to Cole Porter’s “I’ve Got Some Unfinished Business With You” just
as Dracula put his hand around my waist, there was drama enough.
—Selina Kyle, Cat-Tales: Capes and Bats by Wanders Nowhere

Once again, the good folks over at Red Room have provided the perfect prompt.  This time it was Vampires, the ideal lead in for a look back at meeting Wanders Nowhere, the author of the amazing Batman and Dracula novel Cat-Tales: Capes and Bats.  I only with I had the time to go into my tour of his Castle Dracula build in Second Life, and tell a few anecdotes of our work together on C&B and that crazy night in SL shooting the video for the C&B trailer.
